Frequently Asked Questions about Twin Lights Home Care
What is Twin Lights Home Care?
A locally owned and operated home-care consultant dedicated to helping elderly residents in the Monmouth County area continue to live in the comfort, security and privacy of their own homes. We serve residents who no longer are independent enough to live on their own, but aren’t ready to enter a nursing home, assisted-living facility or other institutional setting.
What services do you provide?
We introduce clients to live-in aides who are experienced, compassionate and dedicated to offering assistance any time of the day or night. We carefully screen the aides before introducing them to clients. And once we do, we offer ongoing support to ensure the best possible service.
What do the aides do?
Cooking, light housekeeping, laundry, companionship, recreation (e.g., taking walks, playing cards), help with correspondence (e.g., email, letter writing), medication reminders and support when getting up in the morning and going to bed at night.
Can I hire an aide for a few hours or days at a time?
Twin Lights advises clients only on long-term live-in care.
Are there any requirements for the client?
Clients provide the aide with a private sleeping area, meals, access to phone, television and internet, and occasional breaks for personal business and relaxation.
Do the aides get days off?
Aides typically work for several weeks in a row, then take 4-5 days off to spend time with their families. When an aide goes on break, Twin Lights Home Care will help the client find a temporary replacement who is equally experienced, compassionate and dedicated to serving the client.
Is Twin Lights Home Care insured?
Yes. We have a comprehensive liability policy through Lloyd’s of London covering property damage and injury. (A copy of the declarations page is available upon request.)
Is Twin Lights Home Care a licensed home health agency?
Because we’re a consulting firm – not an employment agency – there are no licensing requirements. That’s a big reason why our rates are substantially lower than home health agencies.
Is Twin Lights Home Care a franchise?
No. We are owned and operated by lifelong residents of Monmouth County. Since we don’t pay franchise fees, our overhead costs are low. That -- and the fact we have a manageable coverage area -- is why we can provide better service than our competitors at a substantially lower rate.
How much does it cost?
$185 per day (24 hours) covers our consulting fee as well as compensation for the aide. For a couple, the rate is $250 per day. There are no additional costs. However, we do require a security deposit equal to two weeks of billings ($2,590 for a single client)
Do you accept insurance?
Clients with long-term care policies from insurers such as Genworth and John Hancock are eligible for reimbursement for live-in care expenses. We can furnish you with the necessary documentation and help you submit claims.
Can I cancel the service at any time?
Yes, with one week’s notice.
Do you accept credit cards or debit cards?
We accept checks, cash and direct deposits from client accounts. We encourage clients to pay using the direct-deposit function available through our billing system, QuickBooks. It’s the easiest way to manage billings and payments.
